NANOSCIENCE refers to the manipulation of individual atoms and molecules on the scale of the nanometer (one billionth of a meter). NANOSCIENCE is also being developed for use in medicine, computers, biotechnologies and space research. The ground breaking YONEX Research & Development department have completed extensive research into the possible uses of NANOSCIENCE in the manufacture of new materials with significant beneficial performance properties for golf.

The NANOSCIENCE Carbon Graphite Crown creates a weight saving of 4g. This valuable weight is strategically repositioned to produce a lower and deeper centre of gravity producing a higher ball trajectory, with reduced spin, for greater distances.

The fullerene is engineered into the Nanospeed shaft to create a stronger and lighter shaft. To further maximize repulsion power, ElasticTi is positioned at the kick-point to increase swing speed by 1m/s.

The Cyberstar Nanospeed driver launches a golf ball faster, higher and with less spin than a conventional driver.


MAKING WAVES

Yonex engineers have developed the new Power-Wave Face, which takes the bounds of variable thickness face technology to a new dimension.

By constructing the centre of the face to be thicker than the two channels down either side, a launch platform is created which "hinges" on the two relatively thinner sections. This creates a slight movement resulting in an increase in the Coefficient-of-Restitution (COR), generating increased ball speed and therefore extra power and distance.

This launch platform provides a larger impact sweet zone which, unlike many other drivers with "increased COR faces", maximised distance and control even on off-centre hits.


Yonex golf clubs incorporate the same level of high technology materials and development as that found in space satellites, advanced medical systems and state-of-the-art robotics.

Yonex have used these technical advances to create UltimumTi - a super thin, ultra strong fibre that "snaps back" the high-modulus graphite shaft to its original shape, adding extra power.
